I've been experimenting with inexpensive and creative ways to frame photos. Understanding the lack of counter space and the outrageous prices of custom framing- I found a great solution! I discovered Plexiglass mounted prints. An artist friend of mine uses this technique for presenting her work in galleries. I like the idea of having several on a wall to tell your wedding story. They are so lightweight that all you need is velcro for hanging.
The petite madeleine represents the experience of being transported back in time by sensory memory. This plump little cake appears in Marcel Proust’s novel "À la recherche du temps perdu" (Remembrance of Things Past); upon tasting the cake the narrator is physically consumed by a flashback to a childhood memory. When I read about the encounter with the petite madeleine, I instantly thought about the power of images to recreate the past and interpret emotions. In my approach to photography, I think about capturing not only what is happening in front of me, but also what it feels like being in this moment. I hope that people are able to slip into the scene of my images and relive whatever memory emerges.
Cool idea! Where do I get them?
